Here is something most amazing. A small vilalage in Punjab, Sansarpur,has given to the world 14 Olympian hockey players!

Dhyan Chand who was called the "Wizard of Hockey" played as though the ball was struck to the stick!So muh so, officials during one of his travels broke his hockey stick while looking for magnets inside!

Dhyan chand one of the best hockey players to date, has a statue of his in vienna, built by a sports club there.

Dhanraj Pillay,ace hockey player is the only Indian to have played in 4 Olymics, 4 world cups, 4 champions Trophies, 4 Asian Games and 4 Asia Cups.

August 29, which is hockey great Dhyan Chand's birthday, is observed as national sports day in india. Did you know that?

In the world of designer shoes and shoes made specifically for each sport, Dhyan Chand in the Olympic Games against Germany played barefoot and scored seven goals to take the country to a massive win.

Hockey is the only sport in india that has won india an olympic gold. Not one but enght times!
